Loveland, 05-Feb-05, on 50 year old wood skis
Well, I made it onto the lift. Damn, these skis are really tip heavy. You can see how they tilt my tips down. These twigs are very damn tip heavy. Everything else I have ever had on before was pretty much centered weight wise. I will begin to mention here that getting off the lift was the begining of this experience. I resorted to the good old snow plow. Great, just a little edge on the left ski, and I should turn right. Right? Well, nice soft leather boots don't transfer the subtle knee action to the edges. So, I throw in lots of knee AND ankle to get these beasts to turn. I can now see I am going to be FAR from pretty heading down the bunny run. (Note to self, ego is currently checked in at the lodge).
